Arsenal target ‘open’ to January transfer as report reveals why £80m deal will be ‘entertained’

Arsenal target Vlahovic

Arsenal target Dusan Vlahovic is reportedly “open” to leaving Juventus in January amid reports linking the forward with a move to the Premier League.

The Gunners were first linked with the attacker ahead of the January transfer window earlier this year.

This followed his sensational form for Serie A side Fiorentina. He netted 17 league goals in 21 outings for them in 2021/22.

Arsenal tried hard to sign him but they ultimately missed out as Juventus secured his services shortly before the end of the winter window.

Vlahovic has continued his goalscoring form for the Italian giants but their “uncertain” financial situation has fuelled talk that he could leave in January or next summer.

The Londoners have seemingly returned to the conversation as they consider signing a striker to cover for Gabriel Jesus. The striker has undergone knee surgery and will be out until February.

Man Utd are also being linked with Vlahovic as they look to sign a replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo. Il Corriere dello Sport are reporting that the forward is valued at around £80m.

“So, more important than the actual sporting sanctions is actually just the fact that it’s not thought that Vlahovic is particularly happy under Max Allegri. And because of that, I think that he is open to a move and Juventus are, at the same time, quite prepared to entertain offers and see what happens.”

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta recently told reporters that they “can get a striker” in January if the right opportunity arises.

“Can we afford not getting the player that we want? That is my question.

“We can afford to get a striker for sure if we want one, I don’t know if he plays in League Two, League Five, Spain, Portugal or…
