Jorden Feliciano Joins Wanderers as Assistant Coach

Wanderers Gander, Sow Return to Respective U SPORTS Teams

December 19, 2022 – Canadian Premier League (CPL)HFX Wanderers FC News Release

Halifax, NS – Halifax Wanderers head coach Patrice Gheisar has appointed Jorden Feliciano as the club’s new first-team assistant coach. The hiring of Feliciano by the Wanderers follows the recent arrival of Gheisar as head coach earlier this month.

Feliciano worked alongside Gheisar at Vaughan Azzurri in League1 Ontario, serving as the assistant coach during the club’s undefeated run to a 2022 championship.

“This is an amazing opportunity; I’m excited to be a part of making a difference on the field as well as off it,” Feliciano said. “When Patrice told me he was going to be the next head coach and asked me to join him, I said, ‘Of course!’ and I stayed up all night watching videos of the fans and the stadium, and now I’m excited to give back to the people that support the club so much.”

Holding multiple coaching qualifications, including a UEFA A license, Feliciano was also Vaughan’s women’s head coach, men’s reserves head coach, U17 boys head coach and the club’s director of youth programs for U13 to U17.

“Jorden is a young, energetic coach that believes in the same culture that I do; I think it’s important to have those qualities in our staff,” Wanderers head coach Patrice Gheisar said. “He is hard-working, driven and adaptable. Jorden’s strengths include his ability to both scout and work on the field with players.”

Feliciano takes pride in how he helps a team prepare for matches, whether in training or through video analysis. One of his past assignments with Gheisar included opposition scouting the Wanderers ahead of the 2019 Canadian Championship.

“It was cool to see how Patrice valued my opinion and have me break down the opposition, and it’s funny that happened to be the club we’re both going to be working at,” Feliciano said. “As our relationship has grown over time and we became comfortable working in each other’s space, I think we balance each other well.”

Feliciano joins new head coach Patrice Gheisar and returning goalkeeper coach Jan-Michael Williams on the Wanderers bench in 2023.
