Chelsea owner Todd Boehly is ‘closing in on appointing ex-RB Leipzig chief Christopher Vivell as the club’s new technical director’… with the German responsible for signing Erling Haaland at RB Salzburg

Todd Boehly and Chelsea are reportedly close to formally appointing former RB Leipzig technical director Christopher Vivell at Stamford Bridge.

He had been operating in an advisory role at Stamford Bridge since October, but after securing a work permit he is set for formal appointment to the role, as per Sky Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg

Boehly will be pleased to finally find the right man to replace Petr Cech, who left after three years in the role in summer, having already seen moves for Michael Edwards and Christoph Freund fail.
