Man Utd legend Neville warns clubs over ‘magnet for trouble’ as Portugal star continues search for new team

Cristiano Ronaldo looks dejected

Manchester United legend Gary Neville hopes Cristiano Ronaldo can find a Premier League club to join but has a warning for potential bidders.

The Red Devils agreed to the mutual termination of his contract after Ronaldo gave a controversial interview to Piers Morgan, in which he was critical of the club, manager Erik ten Hag, former players, senior executives and more.

That has given Ronaldo the chance to move on a free transfer to a club of his choice but the offers aren’t flowing in with Saudi Arabian side Al-Nassr believed to be the only club to have submitted a serious offer.

You’re going to play some games and not the others and you are going to compete for your place.’

“But we’ve seen that in the last two teams that he’s played in with United and Portugal that it hasn’t gone down particularly well for either party.

“So I think that the pressure of having him on the bench, he’s so big with the fans, he’s so big with the media, he’s one of the greatest players that has ever played, seeing him on the bench is almost like a magnet for trouble for the club that he’s playing for.

“The focus becomes the player that’s not on the pitch rather…
