Washington Signs CSU Bakersfield Transfer Kalea Eichenberger

SEATTLE – Washington head women’s soccer coach Nicole Van Dyke has announced the signing of transfer forward Kalea Eichenberger, a talented young goal scorer from Rancho Cucamonga, California.

Eichenberger comes to UW after playing her true freshman campaign at CSU Bakersfield, Van Dyke’s alma mater. During her lone season as a Roadrunner, the forward earned All-Big West Freshman Team laurels.

After starting the first three matches on the bench, Eichenberger went on to start the final 17 matches of her rookie season. She led CSUB in both goals and points with four and 10, respectively.

After registering her first assist against San Diego, the Etiwanda High School product scored twice in three matches, finding the back of the net against Northern Arizona and CSUN. Eichenberger went on to earn Big West Player of the Week honors after bagging a brace in the win over Cal Poly.

Prior to making the leap to the college game, Eichenberger helped lead EHS to a pair of league titles, garnering All-CIF honors as a senior.
