COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State junior midfielder Laurence Wootton has been named a 2022 Third Team All-American by the United Soccer Coaches, the organization announced Friday.

Earlier this week, Wootton was named a first team member of the 2022 All-North Region squad.

Wootton, a native of Stoke-on-Trent, England, was named the 2022 Big Ten Midfielder-of-the-Year as well. He tied for the team lead with five goals to go with a pair of assists. He led the team in shots on goal with 22.

Ohio State now has 11 total All-America honorees since the program became a varsity sport in 1953.

The Buckeyes finished the 2022 season with an 11-3-6 record. After finishing tied for second in the Big Ten regular-season race, Ohio State advanced to the second round of the 2022 NCAA Tournament.
