San Antonio FC Signs Defender Connor Maloney to Multi-Year Extension

SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio FC has signed goalkeeper Jordan Farr to a multi-year extension, pending league and federation approval, the team announced today. Per team policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.


“We are thrilled to continue our relationship with Jordan here at SAFC,” said head coach Alen Marcina. “He’s grown exponentially over the season, which led to a career-best season with earned and deserving awards and recognitions. Jordan, viewed as one of the leaders on the team, is a part of a strong core of returnees from our Championship winning season.”

The reigning USL Championship Goalkeeper of the Year, Farr enjoyed a career year in the Alamo City in 2022. Since emerging as the starter in April, Farr posted 17 shutouts in 33 matches to lead the league. The Oregon native shut out opponents 15 times in the regular season, tying a USL Championship record.

In the 2022 postseason, Farr became the only goalkeeper in SAFC history to record consecutive clean sheets.

In addition to the Goalkeeper of the Year honors, Farr was named to the All-League First Team, twice named Player of the Month and earned four spots on the USL Championship Team of the Week over the course of the regular season.

Farr is the 11th member of the 2022 USL Championship Title-winning squad to return for 2023. The 2023 SAFC roster currently stands as follows, with more moves to be announced in the coming weeks:

Goalkeepers (1) – Jordan Farr

Defenders (5) – Fabien Garcia, Shannon Gomez, Connor Maloney, Carter Manley, Mitchell Taintor

Midfielders (3) – Mohammed Abu, Victor “PC” Giro, David Loera

Forwards (2) – Ignacio Bailone, Justin Dhillon
