SEATTLE – Washington men’s soccer sophomore Ilijah Paul has been named on of 15 semifinalists for the MAC Hermann Trophy, United Soccer Coaches announced on Wednesday.
 
The MAC Hermann Trophy is the top individual honor in college soccer and has been presented annually since 1967.
 
Paul, the Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Year, leads the conference in goals (11) and goals per game (0.58). He ranks 12th nationally in total goals and 20th in total points. One of Paul’s three game-winning goals came in the 90th minute at Cal to give Washington a 1-0 victory over the Golden Bears.
 
The nomination marks the fourth straight year that a Husky has been named a semifinalist after Dylan Teves (2020, 2021), Ryan Sailor (2021) and Blake Bodily (2019).
 
On Dec. 14, the three finalists will be revealed. The 2022 MAC Hermann Trophy banquet will be held at the Missouri Athletic Club in St. Louis on Jan. 6, 2023 to announce the winner.
