Detrizio and Minniss Named to All-Region Team

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Margie Detrizio and Mykiaa Minniss of the Washington State women’s soccer team were named to the 2022 United Soccer Coaches All-Pacific Region Third Team, the organization announced Tuesday.

Detrizio earned all-region honors for the first time in her career after leading the Cougar offense in 2022 with a team-best 28 points and finished the year in the top-3 in the conference in points, goals, shots, and shots on target. The junior forward’s team-high 11 goals tied for third in the Pac-12, while she led the conference in shots and shots on target. The Chandler, Ariz., native also finished with a team-high six assists, tied for sixth-most in the league.

Minniss, a fifth-year senior defender, picked up USC All-Region honors for the second-consecutive season. She finished her collegiate career with 92 career starts, breaking the previous school record held by former teammate Sydney Pulver. Minniss started all 92 matches in her college career, finishing with over 8,300 minutes played, including a run to the 2019 College Cup as a sophomore.

Earlier this month Detrizio and Minniss both earned All-Pac-12 honors, with Detrizio named to the All-Pac-12 Second Team. Minniss earned All-Pac-12 honors in three-straight seasons and four total all-conference honors, including selection to the 2022 All-Pac-12 Third Team.
