State Places Four on College Sports Communicators’ Academic All-District Team

STARKVILLE – Mississippi State soccer’s Maddy Anderson, Alyssa D’Aloise, Macey Hodge and Gwen Mummert were all selected for the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team, the organization announced this week, earning bids to the upcoming Academic All-America ballot.

It’s the first all-district nod for all four MSU athletes.

“We are very proud of the work these young ladies have put in the classroom to earn this prestigious award,” head coach James Armstrong said. “This is great recognition of the academic culture of this program.”

Junior goalkeeper Anderson currently sits on a 4.0 GPA in psychology. On the field, the Seabrook, Texas, native broke the MSU career shutouts record (13) in an upset-win over Arkansas earlier this season. A couple weeks later, she also broke the record for most shutouts recorded by one goalkeeper in program history (9) in a 0-0 tie against Missouri.

Graduate midfielder D’Aloise currently sits on a 4.0 GPA in her graduate program, working towards an MBA. The Dallas, Texas, native is currently serving as a team captain for the third consecutive season. The veteran has logged over 1,500 minutes and has started in all 21 matches during her final season as a Bulldog.

Junior midfielder Hodge currently sits on a 3.76 GPA in psychology. On the field, the Douglasville, Georgia, native is currently serving as a team captain for the second straight season. So far, the veteran has logged the second-most minutes on the team (1,836) and has started in all 21 games. Hodge recently earned Second Team All-SEC honors and was also recently named to the 2022 SEC Community Service team.

Graduate defender Mummert currently sits on a 3.71 in psychology. On the field, the Berlin, Germany, native leads the team in minutes played (1,876). The veteran defender has scored two goals so far this season which is the third time in her career scoring two or more goals. Both of her goals during the 2022 campaign have given State the opening lead in a three-goal-or-higher match (3-2 vs. LSU, 2-1 vs. Texas A&M (2OT)).
