San Antonio FC Tops Monterey Bay F.C. Behind Late Santiago Patiño Goal

SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio FC topped Oakland Roots SC tonight 3-0 to advance to the USL Championship Western Conference Final. Leading the offensive charge was Santiago Patiño with his second-career playoff brace. The Conference Final will be played next Sunday, November 6, at 7:30 p.m. CT at Toyota Field.


San Antonio scored quickly to start the match, with Samuel Adeniran striking in a pass from Patiño in the second minute to make it an early 1-0 lead.

The duo would connect again in the 75th minute, this time with Patiño scoring on a feed from Adeniran to make it 2-0 SAFC with just a quarter of an hour to play. Then again in the 90th minute, Patiño scored on a ball from Justin Dhillon to finish the scoring at 3-0.

The goals, Patiño’s fourth and fifth in the playoffs for San Antonio, extend his club record for career postseason goals with five. Patiño as also now recorded a brace in each of the last two postseasons.

With the win, SAFC advances to the Western Conference Final for just the second time in club history. San Antonio will host the match on Sunday, Nov. 6 at 7:30 p.m. CT, against the winner of tomorrow’s match between Sacramento Republic FC and Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC. Tickets for the match will go on sale tomorrow at 10:00 a.m. CT at SanAntonioFC.com or the SAFC app.
