Man Utd urged to make ‘perfect’ Harry Kane signing

Darren Bent believes Harry Kane would be a “perfect” signing for Man Utd, but does not think the England captain will leave Tottenham.

The Red Devils will probably be in the market for a new striker in 2023 with Cristiano Ronaldo struggling and also wanting to leave the club.

The Portugal captain decided to wait until a few days before pre-season to tell the club he was unhappy and did not want to play in the Europa League.

His wish was not granted, with Man Utd reluctant to sell and literally every single elite Champions League club reluctant to sign him.

And Ronaldo has shown clubs around Europe what they are missing with a gargantuan one goal from open play in 12 appearances this term.

It would have been one in 13 had he not refused to come on against Tottenham last week; once again displaying an exemplary attitude that will surely have club officials queuing outside Jorge Mendes’ office to discuss a transfer.

Marcus Rashford has been pretty impressive this season after an extremely difficult 18 months on the pitch, and Anthony Martial has been given a chance to impress Erik ten Hag.

It remains to be seen whether or not Man Utd would be willing to pay Tottenham’s asking price, if they even set one.

However, Kane is out of contract in 2024 and could force a move out as he looks to win a trophy for the first time in his career.

A move to Man City is now unlikely with Erling Haaland at the Etihad. The Citizens tried to sign Kane last summer for over £100million.

Bent insists a transfer to Old Trafford “makes sense” but is “not convinced” the England captain will leave Spurs.

“Where does he go? That City bubbles gone,” he told talkSPORT.

“United would be perfect, they need a centre-forward.

“So that makes sense.”

Bent continued: “I’m not…
