Brighton star Leandro Trossard is reportedly attracting interest from LaLiga giants Atletico Madrid.

The Belgian attacker has earned admirers from top Premier League clubs such as Chelsea and Arsenal, who are believed to be in the running to sign him.

However, the London clubs now face competition from Diego Simone’s Atletico, who are planning on signing him on a free transfer, according to The Mirror.

The 27-year-old has remained committed to Brighton when asked about his future, insisting that he is focused on his club and the World Cup with Belgium ahead of a move away from the Amex Stadium.

He told the BBC: ‘It’s difficult to say anything about that now and completely depends on which club would come.

‘[It will depend on if] I feel good and things are good on a private level.

‘But I also know how good I am at Brighton, also with new coach Roberto De Zerbi it looks promising.’

He was also asked about Chelsea’s interest in him, and he told Play Sports, via Sportwitness: ‘It’s very difficult to answer that. That will have to wait. I’m not on it at all right now.

‘Brighton and the World Cup are the next goals. Afterwards we’ll see where it ends.’

Chelsea will think that they have an advantage in the chase for Trossard as his former manager Graham Potter is currently at the helm at Stamford Bridge.
