COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State heads out on its final road trip of the regular season on Sunday when it travels to Champaign, Ill., to take on Illinois. The Buckeyes are 5-1-2 on the road this season and very much in the hunt for a Big Ten regular season title. First touch is set for 2 p.m. ET and the match will be streamed on BTN+.

  • The Buckeyes lead the all-time series 12-9-4 and are unbeaten against the Fighting Illini in the last five meetings.
  • The two teams did not meet last season with the most recent meeting coming on March 21, 2021 in Champaign. The Buckeyes scored twice over a span of 1:20 in the second half to erase a 1-0 deficit and claim a 2-1 victory. Kayla Fischer scored the equalizer and Izzy Rodriguez had the game-winner.
  • Ohio State is coming off a scoring frenzy on Thursday night, blitzing Maryland 7-0. Kailyn Dudukovich converted a pair of penalties and added another goal for the first hat trick of her career and the 18th in program history. Emma Sears set the tone with two goals in the first five minutes and Kayla Fischer scored a goal for the fourth consecutive game.
  • The seven goals vs. Maryland Thursday are tied for the most against a Big Ten team in program history, matching the 7-0 win over Illinois on Sept. 14, 2017.
  • Ohio State is in the rankings for the second consecutive week, checking in at No. 20 this week.
  • The Buckeyes are unbeaten in their last six matches, registering four wins and a pair of draws.
  • Illinois is coming off a 3-1 loss on Thursday night at Nebraska. The Illini have just one win in their last five matches and are 7-6-2 overall and 2-4-1 in B1G play. Illinois’ conference wins have come over Maryland and Purdue.
  • Fischer has scored a goal in each of the last four games. This is the longest goal streak of her career and it’s the third time in her career with at least a point in four consecutive games. Fischer is now 10th in program history with 25 goals in her career.
  • Emma Sears scored twice against Maryland has four goals in the last three games. She is now 14th in program history with 21 goals in her career and has a team-high eight goals and 20 points this season.
