Pasquale Named Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week

ROSEMONT, Ill. — Kendra Pasquale was selected as the Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week after a two-goal performance on Sunday at Purdue, the conference announced on Tuesday.

The redshirt senior opened the match by scoring one of the goals of the season just 15 seconds into the contest, which was the second-fastest goal in program history.

Pasquale then doubled her tally and also scored the match winner in the second half after slotting home her penalty kick to help deliver the Illini’s first win in West Lafayette in program history. It was the first time since Feb. 25, 2021, vs. Iowa, that she scored two goals in a single match.

The Naperville, Ill., native, leads the Orange and Blue this season in goals (5), points (11) and game-winning goals (3).

Pasquale is the first Illinois player to win this award since Jannelle Flaws on Oct. 29, 2015.

Along with this award, she was also named to Top Drawer Soccer’s Team of the Week.
