Delaney Graham to Perform National Anthem Thursday

DURHAM – Duke graduate student Delaney Graham will perform the national anthem prior to the Blue Devil women’s soccer match against Wake Forest at Koskinen Stadium on Thursday, Oct. 6 at 7 p.m.

Graham, a native of Atlanta, Ga., has started all 11 matches for the Blue Devils and helped the fourth-ranked squad to an 8-3 overall and 3-1 ACC ledger.  In Thursday’s match, she is expected to make her 92nd career start, which will pass Tara Campbell’s previous mark of 91 as Duke’s all-time record holder.

Since her arrival in Durham, Graham has sung the national anthem at numerous Duke sporting events including women’s soccer, baseball and men’s basketball.  This past April, Graham was one of four student-athletes from the NCAA Men’s Basketball Final Four schools to sing the national anthem prior to the national semifinal games in New Orleans, La.

Graham has also sung with the Duke a capella group Lady Blue, which released an EP called Dandelion on Apple Music and Spotify in 2020.  She was the lead solo in the song 66 Days.

Thursday’s match against Wake Forest will be Duke’s annual “Pink Game” as the Blue Devils will wear pink jerseys that will be auctioned off to raise money for breast cancer research at the Duke Cancer Institute.
