CLEMSON, S.C. – The #24 Clemson women’s soccer team hosts #6 Notre Dame at Historic Riggs Field on Thursday, Sept. 15. The match is set to kick off at 8 p.m. and will be broadcasted on ACC Network.

This marks the 10th time that the Tigers and Fighting Irish will meet, with Notre Dame narrowly leading the series, 5-4. Most recently Clemson defeated the Fighting Irish 3-2 in Notre Dame in the ACC Quarterfinals behind goals from Caroline Conti, Makenna Morris and Megan Bornkamp. Graduate forward Olivia Wingate and senior midfielder Maddie Mercado lead the 7-0 Fighting Irish with 13 and 11 points, respectively.

Clemson is coming off a top-20 win against then No. 17 West Virginia at Dick Dlesk Stadium in Morgantown, W. Va. last Thursday. Junior keeper Halle Mackiewicz was vital in the win as she registered four saves, one of which was a game-saving stop off a penalty kick in the 66th minute.

The previous Sunday the Tigers earned a 3-0 win against App State on Sunday at Historic Riggs Field, following a near three hour weather delay. Senior Caroline Conti recorded the game-winning goal in the 32nd minute for her third goal of the season. Freshman Maria Manousos impressed once again registering a goal and an assist against the Mountaineers while Sydney Minarik sealed the win with her third goal of the season.
