Ajax boss Schreuder claims Man Utd boss Ten Hag has given him the blueprint to beat Liverpool

Ajax boss Alfred Schreuder thinks Man Utd have given him the perfect blueprint to follow after beating Liverpool earlier in the season.

Man Utd played well in their 2-1 win over the Reds in August, despite Liverpool dominating the ball at Old Trafford, as clinical finishes from Jadon Sancho and Marcus Rashford sealed the points.

Ajax face Liverpool on Tuesday night at Anfield in the Champions League after hammering Rangers 4-0 in Amsterdam last week.

Jurgen Klopp’s side weren’t as good against Napoli in their first group match of the campaign as they were beaten 4-1 in Naples last Wednesday.

Schreuder continued: “Ajax have shown in the last years we can compete at this level. It’s a big compliment for the people here at Ajax to get a strong squad again.

“We signed a few players and some young players have come in, which fit into the Ajax system. It gives us new energy.”

Liverpool boss Klopp claimed yesterday that his side’s performance in their defeat to Napoli was the “worst” since he arrived as manager in 2015.

Klopp said: “I watched the game back plenty of times and it was a real horror show to be honest. It was the worst game we played since I was here,” Klopp told…
