RALEIGH – NC State men’s soccer (2-0-1) steps into Atlantic Coast Conference action on Saturday night when it makes the trip to fourth-ranked Wake Forest (4-0-0). Kickoff from Spry Stadium in Winston-Salem, N.C., is scheduled for 7 p.m. with live video coveraged provided by ACCNX.

SERIES HISTORY (NC State trails 11-31-7)

• Saturday marks the 50th overall meeting between NC State and Wake Forest. The squads have played each other at least once every season since the 1980 campaign and also met in 1979 before Wake Forest was a varsity team.

• The Demon Deacons remain unbeaten (15-0-5) in the last 20 meetings with the Wolfpack. NC State’s last win over Wake Forest was a 2-1 victory in Raleigh on Oct. 30, 2005.

• The Pack has not won a road match at Wake Forest since beating the Demon Deacons 1-0 on Oct. 10, 1993.

• NC State’s last two matches against Wake Forest have ended in draws. The teams most recently met in Raleigh on Sept. 24, 2021 for a match that ended in a 1-1 tie. NC State scored first in the 71st minute, but Wake Forest secured the equalizer just 39 seconds later. Neither team scored again in a game that extended through two overtime periods.

• In the spring portion of the 2020-21 season, the Wolfpack and the Demon Deacons tied 0-0 in Winston-Salem. That decision halted a seven-match winning streak that Wake Forest had in the series as NC State earned a point against them for the first time since Oct. 9, 2015.
