Michigan Plays to Draw Against Bowling Green

ANN ARBOR, Mich. — The University of Michigan men’s soccer team played to a 0-0 draw against Bowling Green State University on Monday afternoon (Sept. 5) at U-M Soccer Stadium.

The Wolverines (1-2-1) tallied five shots, with Cameron Martin putting one on goal and sophomore goalkeeper Hayden Evans making six saves in the shutout.

Freshman Niklas Dossmann made his first career appearance as he started on the backline for U-M, while both Derick Broche and Uriel Zeitz saw action for the first time this season.

Bowling Green (0-2-2) came out fast, taking two shots in the first minute of the match. The Wolverines settled in, however, and Kevin Buca fired a shot that was blocked in the sixth minute of play.

U-M looked to open the scoring late in the first half with a shot from Bryce Blevins and a corner kick, but the Wolverines were unable to find the back of the net as the two teams headed into the halftime break scoreless.

Martin placed a shot on frame less than 30 seconds into the second half and Michigan earned a corner minutes later, but U-M was unable to generate any offense from the attempt.
