COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State heads back out on the road this week, but it will be a short trip. The Buckeyes will travel just over an hour west to take on in-state foe Dayton at Baujan Field on Thursday evening. First touch is set for 7 p.m. and the match can be seen on ESPN+.

  • The Buckeyes are 11-2-1 all-time vs. Dayton and have won each of the last four meetings. That includes a 2-0 win last year on Sept. 9 in Columbus. Emma Sears and Brittany Duncan were the goal scorers and Bailey Kolinski had to make just one save in the shutout.
  • The Buckeyes went 2-0 on their season-opening road trip and are coming off a 2-0 setback to No. 9 BYU last Friday night.
  • Dayton has opened the season at 3-0-1. After drawing with Toledo to start the year, the Flyers have won three-straight over Wright State, Northern Kentucky and Kent State.
  • Ohio State was the only program in the country to claim a pair of Power 5 road victories in the opening week. Arizona is the only other school to notch two Power 5 wins in the first week.
  • Graduate Maddy Lowe scored her first goal in nearly three years when she netted the game-winner in the 80th minute at Missouri. Her last goal came on Oct. 17, 2019 vs. Northwestern.
  • Ohio State head coach Lori Walker-Hock is in her 26th season leading the program. She is 273-189-54 as the Buckeyes’ head coach and has won a pair of Big Ten regular season titles.
  • Seniors Talani Barnett and Kayla Fischer as well as sophomore Sydney Jones were all named Big Ten Women’s Soccer Players to Watch this fall.
  • Barnett, Fischer, Lowe and Emaly Vatne were all selected to captain the 2022 team.
  • The Buckeyes will return home on the weekend to host No. 18 Texas A&M on Sunday at Noon. It will be Parent’s Day at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium.
