The Ducks open a three-match homestand by hosting Texas and Boise State this week.

KEY STORYLINES

• Freshmen Force. Of the Ducks’ five goals this season, three have been scored by freshman Ajanae Respass. Additionally, freshmen own three of Oregon’s five assists. Livvy Moore has two, while Trinity Morales has one.

• One match after tying her career high in saves with nine against San Francisco (8-21), Leah Freeman established a new personal standard with 10 last week at Gonzaga (8-27). Freeman leads the Pac-12 and ranks fifth nationally averaging 8.0 saves per game. 

• Respass on Target. Freshman Ajanae Respass leads the Pac-12 and ranks 10th nationally in shot accuracy at 85.7 percent. Six of her seven shots this season have been on frame. Respass scored twice last week at Gonzaga.

True Dydasco got her sixth season off to a quick start, assisting on the game-winning goal Aug. 18 versus New Mexico State and scoring the tying goal three days later against San Francisco.

• The Ducks have played their first three games without the services of three returning starters from 2021. Kess Elmore, Caitlin Shaw and Croix Soto have been held out recovering from minor ailments.

• Oregon welcomed the No. 25 recruiting class (Top Drawer Soccer) to campus for the 2022 season. Among the 10 incoming freshmen are four-star recruits Kristen Conti, Trinity Morales and Ajanae Respass, who join USC transfer Bel Rolley.

• In 2021, Oregon posted consecutive winning seasons for the first time in 40 years; 1980 (13-1-3) and 1981 (13-2-3).

• The Ducks’ 9-4-6 2021 record was their best since 2006 (12-6-2). It was the fourth-best mark in program history (.632).

LAST SEASON VS. TEXAS

Zoe Hasenauer scored from distance in the 87th minute off an assist from Kess Elmore as the Ducks won a defensive battle 1-0 in Austin. Leah Freeman earned the shutout with two saves. It was the program’s first-ever win in the state of Texas.

WEEK TWO RECAP

Ajanae Respass scored twice and Leah Freeman made a huge play on a breakaway in the final seconds as Oregon and Gonzaga played to a 2-2 draw Aug. 27 at Luger Field.
