FRESNO, Calif. – Central Valley Fuego FC welcomed back Richmond Kickers on Saturday, August 20 to Fresno State Soccer Stadium for Building the Central Valley Night. This was the second meeting between the two teams.
In the first 45 minutes, Fuego FC and the Kickers both came with high energy. We saw several shots on goal from the home side. Mitch North recorded his second regular season appearance. In the 22nd minute a foul on Alexis Cerritos was called outside the box. Victor Falck takes the free kick and misses but successfully finishes on the rebound. Fuego FC took the lead ending the first half.
In the final half, Christian Chaney and Maxi Schenfeld were subbed in for Jose Villarreal and Villyan Bijev after a great effort from both starting forwards. After a throw-in to Chaney, he attempts a bicycle kick but was not able to get a good foot on it. Schendfeld completes the attempt on a one-touch making the score 2-0 before the 70th minute. The visitors got a foul in the box and Emiliano Terzaghi made the PK. In stoppage time the visitors added another goal ending the match in a draw.
