TUCSON, Ariz. – The partnership between FC Tucson and Cox Communications is driven by a common goal: Driving equity across our communities.

For Cox, a family-owned company committed to creating more meaningful moments of human connection through technology, this has included partnering with Sunnyside School District to expand high-speed internet access to underserved households. For FC Tucson, Tucson’s professional soccer team, it’s teaming with Cox on community initiatives such as Barrio 2 Barrio presented Arizona Complete Health, which is a pop-up block party designed to bring communities together in a healthy, engaging, and meaningful way.

Together, Cox and FC Tucson are celebrating the second year of the Cox Community Corner, which fosters community through the ‘Beautiful Game’ by providing free FC Tucson home game VIP experiences to youth and youth-based organizations who may not otherwise attend a professional soccer match. The experience includes Top Shelf Transportation to and from the match, team swag giveaways, a walk on the pitch during player warm-ups, and a pitch-side dinner provided by AZ Fit Kitchen.

“As a professional sports team, it’s important to be a leader in offering chances for young people to feel inspired and hopeful for their future. We can demonstrate this is many ways but it is the power of meeting your community, on their turf, and gifting them with excitement, tools, and resources that can help to improve their quality of life and how they see themselves in the world that makes the initiatives sponsored by Cox truly unique.,” said FC Tucson President Amanda Powers.

FC Tucson and Cox are now focused on promoting fun, health and digital equity on Sunday, Aug. 28, at Summit View Elementary School for a Barrio 2 Barrio presented by Arizona Complete Health. The event will run from 9-11 a.m. and features a free soccer clinic, free gently worn soccer equipment and gear, fun challenge games – including the club’s inflatable soccer goal – a tifo painting station, music, food trucks, giveaways, and FC Tucson Pro player appearances.

“Cox is pleased to partner with FC Tucson to bring a fun and exciting day of soccer to the kids in the Summit View community,” said Lisa Lovallo, Southern Arizona Market Vice President. “Together we hope that these kids will catch the soccer fever and enjoy learning from the pros of this great sport. We know sports is a great way to…
