LA Galaxy II Falls to Red-Hot Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC

LOS ANGELES – Down 2-0 at halftime, LA Galaxy II battled back to earn a 2-2 draw against New Mexico United at Dignity Health Sports Park on Sunday night. Jonathan Pérez and Cameron Dunbar each tallied goals, while Adrian Gonzalez and Owen Lambe each tallied an assist in the draw against New Mexico.


Goal-Scoring Plays

NM – Romario Williams (Chris Wehan), 24th minute: Romario Williams received Chris Wehan’s pass and his shot from close range was converted at the near post.

NM – Own Goal (Owen Lambe), 42nd minute: A pass from the right flank was redirected into the back of the net off LA defender Owen Lambe from close range.

LA – Cameron Dunbar (Adrian Gonzalez), 62nd minute: Adrian Gonzalez’s cross into the center of the penalty area found the head of Cameron Dunbar, who redirected the ball into the back of the net.

LA – Jonathan Pérez (Owen Lambe), 69th minute: Owen Lambe released Jonathan Pérez down the right flank. Pérez cut inside on his left foot and curled his shot in off the far post.

Postgame Notes

Following the draw against New Mexico United, LA Galaxy II (9-11-5, 32 points) moved up to eighth place in the Western Conference standings, one point behind seventh-place Las Vegas Lights FC (9-9-6, 33 points).

Galaxy II improved to 6-3-2 in 11 matches played at home during the 2022 campaign.

Jonathan Pérez tallied his third goal for Galaxy II this season. In four appearances (4 starts) for Los Dos, Pérez has tallied three goals and three assists. Additionally, Pérez logged a game-high six shots and three shots on target.

Cameron Dunbar logged his eighth assist of the season in the draw against New Mexico. Dunbar has tallied eight goals and three assists in 25 appearances (25 starts) for LA in 2022. Additionally, Dunbar registered a team-high three chances created.

Owen Lambe logged his team-leading sixth assist in the draw against New Mexico.

Jalen Neal finished the match with two clearances and two interceptions, while completing 58 passes (95% pass accuracy).
