Man Utd ‘ready to make official offer’ for teenage striker after being quoted £300m

Man Utd-linked Sesko

Man Utd are reportedly ‘ready to make an official offer’ to sign Benjamin Sesko after Red Bull Salzburg cheekily demanded £300m for his services.

Erik ten Hag is preparing his Man Utd squad for the start of the 2022/23 campaign at the start of August.

He has a lot of work to do after the Red Devils struggled massively last term. They ended up sixth as they crumbled towards the end of the season especially.

Five times Man Utd had to settle for alternative targets and how they fared

Ten Hag has already signed Tyrell Malacia, Christian Eriksen and Lisandro Martinez ahead of the new campaign.

The Red Devils also remain interested in Frenkie de Jong. Though FC Barcelona are continuing to “take the p*** out” of the midfielder, according to Gary Neville.

Man Utd are also understood to be targeting a new forward, even with it looking increasingly likely that Cristiano Ronaldo will remain at the club.

19-year-old Sesko is the forward United seemingly have their eyes on. Ex-Aston Villa forward has offered his thoughts on this potential incoming.

He reckons United need a forward with a bit more experience and they missed out to Arsenal on an ideal signing:

“Is a 19-year-old the answer for Man United at the moment? They’ve got young players in Sancho, Rashford – they’ll be hoping for a better season,” Agbonlahor told Football Insider.

“I just feel like they need an experienced striker who is in their prime right now. Someone like Gabriel Jesus would have been perfect. They’ve missed out on him.

“It’s a difficult situation for Man United as there isn’t a great deal of options out there, but I wouldn’t be paying £55million for a 19-year-old.

“It’s a lot of money for an inexperienced player. They need someone who can come in and hit the ground running.”

Earlier this week, Red Bull Salzburg’s Twitter admin cheekily claimed that Sesko is valued at £300m.

Sesko has two goals in two competitive games this term and he also netted the winner in a friendly against Liverpool.

The Daily Mail earlier this week claimed that Salzburg want £55m for Sesko, which is far more realistic.

Now Rudy Galetti has claimed via Twitter that Man Utd are primed to ‘make an official’ bid for the teenage forward.

The Italian journalist notes that Sesko ‘could move’ this summer, but Red Bull Salzburg would ‘prefer’ to keep him for another season.
