Canadian Premier League Announces New Date for May 1 Match

WINNIPEG, MB. – Valour FC of the Canadian Premier League today announce the transfer of Canadian forward William Akio to Ross County FC (Scottish Premiership) for an undisclosed fee.

Akio, 23, made 43 appearances over two seasons with Valour FC, tallying 10 goals, four assists and 3,073 minutes played.


“Willy has been an important piece for us over the past two seasons,” said Valour FC Head Coach & GM Phillip Dos Santos. “It was a hard decision for us as a club, but we see it as a great opportunity for the next player in line, and an opportunity for Willy to grow as a player. We wish him the best of luck in the next stage of his career.”

Before joining Valour FC, the forward represented the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley Vaqueros from 2018 to 2021, totalling 18 goals and 14 assists in three seasons with the club, putting him second all-time in points, third in goals, and tied for first in assists in the program’s history.

Internationally, the Calgary native represents the South Sudan national team, where he made four appearances for the squad during his time with Valour FC.
