Harry Kane and Son Heung-min are helping Troy Parrott as the young Tottenham striker selects the next step in his development after the most successful season of his career.

Parrott impressed for Milton Keynes Dons as they reached the League One play-offs and is attracting interest from a host of Championship clubs, including Sunderland, keen to offer him another loan deal next season.

But the 20-year-old is now with Spurs for pre-season, on tour in South Korea where he caught the eye dominating in the gruelling running drills, and is working with Antonio Conte for the first time, learning what he expects of him and picking up tips from world-class strikers such as Kane and Son.

‘From when I first came in as a kid, just to watch them, let alone train with the guys like that day in, day out, was a massive help,’ said Parrott. ‘Just to see the way they prepare, the way they play on the pitch, just trying to take things in.

Something seemed to click for Parrott at MK Dons as he hit six goals in 12 games at the end of the season, and scored important goals for the Republic of Ireland in victories against Lithuania and Scotland.
