Roma are monitoring developments with Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha though no offer has been made yet.

Jose Mourinho is a huge admirer of the 29-year-old, who has one year left on his contract in south London and is almost constantly linked with a move away from Palace.

Zaha began his career with Palace and made such an impression during his early years there that he secured a high-profile move to Manchester United in 2013 in what turned out to be Sir Alex Ferguson’s last signing for the club.

But his time there was short-lived as David Moyes replaced Ferguson and gave Zaha just two league appearances before sending him on loan to Cardiff.

The Ivory Coast international re-joined Palace in 2014 and has remained since, becoming a firm favourite and one of the fans’ most beloved stars. 

He has often carried the team with his ability, scoring 83 goals and providing 73 assists in 429 games for Palace.

Zaha has said on many previous occasions that he wants to play at the highest level, an aim that may soon be beyond him as he approaches 30.

Simultaneously, Palace manager Patrick Vieira may be open to selling his most prized asset now instead of him potentially leaving on a free transfer next season. 

The ex-Arsenal player has overseen a transformation at Selhurst Park since arriving as manager last season, no small part of which has been due to the emergence of some highly promising young players such as Marc Guehi, Eberechi Eze and Michael Olise.
