CARY, NC – North Carolina FC midfielder Raheem Somersall has been named to the St. Kitts & Nevis National Team roster for two upcoming Concacaf Nations League Round One matches, the club announced today.
The first of these matches will take place on June 9th at 6 p.m. ET against Aruba, and the second will take place on June 12th at 7 p.m. ET against Saint Martin. Both competitions will be available to stream on Paramount+.
“I’m grateful to receive another callup to represent my country,” Somersall said. “I hope to have a positive impact and help the team push through and make a good run for the next Gold Cup.”
Joining NCFC from South Georgia Tormenta FC this season, Somersall has registered starts across seven matches, recording 561 minutes of playing time, and collecting an assist, and was recently named to the USL League One Team of the Week in Week Eight of the regular season. For his country, the midfielder has tallied 14 caps, clocking 1,073 minutes of playing time and adding two assists, his most recent appearance taking place in June 2021 in a match against El Salvador.
“I’m excited for Raheem to get another call up to St. Kitts & Nevis,” said Head Coach John Bradford. “Getting additional matches, particularly at the international level, will be great for Raheem and his continued development.”
In its second season since its inception in 2018, the Concacaf Nations League is an international competition between the 41 member associations of Concacaf. It is divided into three tiered leagues, A, B, and C, of four groups each, with promotion and relegation between the leagues based on finishing position within groups. The National League serves as a qualifier for the Concacaf Gold Cup.
