Man Utd ‘studying the right offer’ for Man City, Spurs target who Ten Hag likes ‘a lot’

Man Utd target Alessandro Bastoni looks sad

Man Utd are interested in bringing Inter Milan defender Alessandro Bastoni to the Premier League this summer, according to reports.

Eric Bailly has been placed on a list of players who can leave Old Trafford this summer with the Red Devils hopeful they can bring in another centre-back to compete with Harry Maguire, Raphael Varane and Victor Lindelof next season.

New Man Utd boss Erik ten Hag has reportedly identified the position as a key area that needs improvement after the Red Devils finished sixth in the Premier League table.

The report claims that ‘everything will be done to avoid the sale of Lautaro Martinez’ which means ‘in terms of age, role and market value, all the clues lead to Alessandro Bastoni’.

They draw the conclusion that ‘today, the most credible hypothesis for Bastoni remains the other team from Manchester, Ten Hag’s United’ despite Man City and Tottenham being heavily linked with the centre-back.

There has been speculation that Ten Hag’s budget at Man Utd this summer will be between £100m and £150m after Ralf Rangnick’s claims that there could be as many as ten new arrivals were dismissed.

And Bastoni would cost United a large chunk of that with with Gazzetta dello Sport claiming Inter ‘takes at least €60m’ for the defender, who Ten Hag likes ‘a lot’.
