Liverpool informed there is ‘50% chance’ €75m star leaves club

Liverpool-linked Arnaut Danjuma

There is a ‘50% chance’ that Arnaut Danjuma will leave Villarreal this summer amid interest from the likes of Liverpool and Newcastle United.

Danjuma was previously managed by Eddie Howe during their time together at AFC Bournemouth.

The winger left the Cherries last year as he joined Villarreal for around €25m.

The 25-year-old has been a standout player for Villarreal this term both in Europe and Spain. He has grabbed 16 goals and four assists in 34 games across all competitions.

Danjuma has been heavily linked with Liverpool in recent months. He is understood to have a €75m release clause.

His representative – Michale Moses – has told Radio Castellon (via Cadenaser.com) that Danjuma has a ‘50% chance’ of leaving Villarreal this summer.

Moses went onto suggest that should Newcastle target him, they will be ‘helped’ by Howe’s ‘presence’ at the club.

Elsewhere, Pep Guardiola has compared the perception of Manchester City spending money to that of Liverpool and Manchester United.

Over the last five years, Liverpool have a net spend of £197.2m. Compared to that of Man City’s, whose net spend is £433.8m over the same period.

Liverpool sporting director Michael Edwards has come in for a lot of praise for negotiating some brilliant transfers while keeping their overall spend relatively low.
