Antonio Conte fears Reguilon will miss remainder of season

Sergio Reguilon taking a throw-in

Tottenham boss Antonio Conte fears Sergio Reguilon will miss the remainder of the Premier League campaign.

The Spain international has a groin injury and Conte is not sure he will return for the final four games of the campaign, starting with the visit to Liverpool on Saturday.

He said: “He is not available. He hasn’t had a training session with us. I honestly don’t know, there is only two weeks whether it is possible for him to come back.”

Reguilon’s injury, along with the absences of Oliver Skipp, Matt Doherty and Japhet Tanganga, mean that Spurs only have 15 senior players fit.

Conte joked that now would not be a good time to advise the club on possible transfer targets for next season.

Asked whether he had given the club a list of players he would like to sign, he said: “No, no. no. We are totally focused on this season.

“Also because we are finishing this season with only 15 players and at this moment it is not convenient to give them a list because at this moment it would be a very, very big list.

“It is not a good moment.”

Kulusevski stay likely

One player who could stay permanently at Tottenham is Swedish winger Dejan Kulusevski.

The attacker, who has already made a big impression in north London, is currently on loan until the end of next season. But Conte is confident he will be staying beyond that time.

The Italian added: “Yeah, but he is on loan but it is like a deal, he is a Tottenham player 100 per cent in every aspect, not officially but he is a 100 per cent a Tottenham player.”
