Colorado Springs, CO – Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC continue their great start to the season with another road win in Oakland, improving their record to seven wins and one loss.

Jeff Caldwell played a big role in the win as he came up with big save after big save including a crucial save in the thirty-second minute, when Oakland was awarded a penalty kick.

The offense came alive in the second half as Zach Zandi opened up the scoring in the fifty-sixth with a great through ball from Beverly Makangila. Despite Oakland Roots SC dominating possession and creating several more chances that were saved by Jeff Caldwell, they could not capitalize.

Michee Ngalina notched his team leading fourth goal of the year in the sixty-fifth minute. Oakland Roots continued to press the defense and forced Caldwell to make 2 more saves late in the game. Ultimately Hadji Barry capitalized on a late mistake by Oakland in stoppage time to seal the win for the Switchbacks.

The Switchbacks will be back at home this coming Thursday May 5th, as they take on Rio Grande Valley FC in a Cinco de Mayo showdown. Tickets to that match, and all other matches, available HERE.
