‘That’s not commitment’ – Everton man Richarlison slated by pundit for not going down with the ship

Richarlison, Everton, April 2022.

Former Premier League striker Noel Whelan has slated Everton star Richarlison for requesting a move away when things got tough.

Richarlison has been one of Everton’s most crucial assets for years. The talisman has contributed to 62 goals in 145 games for the Toffees.

“That’s not commitment to me. That’s not fighting for the cause. It’s not right,” Whelan insisted.

Whelan thinks Richarlison will get move

Despite his disaccord with Richarlison’s request, Whelan thinks the striker will indeed get a move away.

“Will he get the move? Of course he will. He’s Brazil’s number nine, and he had Barcelona at his door only a couple of years ago,” he added.

“I’m sure he’ll get the move he wants, but it won’t be cheap. Everton will hold on…
