Paul Pogba meeting with European giant revealed, as Man Utd midfielder becomes ‘priority target’

Paul Pogba has held a meeting with a major European club over a summer transfer from Manchester United and is now their ‘priority target’, as per a report.

Pogba has made over 200 appearances for the Red Devils since re-joining from Juventus for a then world record fee in August 2016. He has helped them to win the Europa League and two EFL Cups during both spells at Old Trafford.

However, Pogba’s time at Manchester United could come to an end once his contract expires this summer. His status in the first team is gradually waning and could lessen even further once the new manager arrives.

In March, the central midfielder gave the clearest indication yet that his future lies away from United.

He said: “You have to be honest, these last five seasons have not satisfied me — really not at all.

“This year is dead, we won’t win anything. Whether it’s with Manchester United or another club, I want to win trophies.

“It’s simple with France, I play and I play in my position — I know my role and I feel the confidence of the coach and the players.

“It’s normal to feel a difference at Manchester United because it’s hard to be consistent when you often have a change to your position, or the team system, or your [midfield] partners.”

Pogba also spoke about his relationship with France manager Didier Deschamps, who gives him a clear role. Whereas at United, this isn’t really known.
