Mohamed Salah could end his Liverpool goal drought in emphatic style against Manchester City on Sunday, according to one pundit.

The Egyptian winger has proved the standout goalscorer at Anfield, following 28 goals so far. Diogo Jota – on 20 – and 15-goal Sadio Mane are not far behind in both the Liverpool and Premier League rankings.

In fact, the pair are the top three Reds scorers and are in the top four in the league standings.

Salah – on 20 Premier League goals this term – is six ahead of nearest challenger Son Heung-min. But while he has proved the consistent Reds goalscorer, the roles have reversed in recent weeks.

The 29-year-old has not scored in six matches in all competitions for Liverpool and Egypt. Meanwhile, Jota has netted four goals in six games and Mane ended his seven-match drought in Tuesday’s win over Benfica.

However, Ray Parlour has backed Reds boss Jurgen Klopp to inspire a fantastic and crucial performance from Salah against City on Sunday.

“Every player has a bit of a dip during the season, it’s how quickly you come out of the dip,” the pundit told talkSPORT.

“I wouldn’t be worried about that whatsoever. Sunday he could score two goals like that and suddenly they win the game.

“Yeah, there was a good chance for him when he toe-poked it [against Benfica], but I think Klopp knows how good he is and how important he is.

“He might have a quiet word with him and say keep going, and get that little bit of confidence and belief…
