Steven Bergwijn has impressed while away on international duty with Holland  The Tottenham winger scored three times for his country in their two matches He has had just 167 minutes of Premier League action since his Leicester heroics 

Steven Bergwijn has hinted that he is ready to bring his time at Tottenham to an end this summer. 

The Holland international has shone on international duty with Louis van Gaal’s side – scoring twice against Denmark before netting in the draw with Germany.

It was an impressive return from a player who has been consigned to the bench at Spurs – the winger having only played 167 minutes of league football across the club’s last 10 games.

That is despite his heroics at Leicester City at the beginning of the year, which saw him come of the bench to score twice in stoppage time and secure an unlikely 3-2 win for his side.

Bergwijn has admitted the lack of playing time is a concern, stating his surprise at being involved in Van Gaal’s latest squad in light of his time spent on the bench this year. 

And he has suggested a move away from north London is certainly an option come June. 

The Dutch international has started just one game since his late heroics against Leicester City 

‘I don’t get to play much at the club. I am happy that the national coach has called me up, that’s not obvious [thing to do],’ he told reporters, as reported by Sports Witness.
