Liverpool ‘increasingly likely’ to sell Mo Salah with controversial reason why hinted

It is the contract dispute that has rumbled on for many a long month and now it appears the future of Liverpool ace Mohamed Salah is in greater doubt than ever.

Salah’s current Anfield contract is set to expire in the summer of 2023. The reluctance of the player and his agent Ramy Abbas Issa to sign an extension has fuelled rumours that the player could make a big-money move this summer.

Liverpool will never allow a £100m asset like Salah to leave on a free transfer, with former Scotland striker Ally McCoist telling TEAMtalk that he now suspects the Egyptian WILL leave Anfield this summer.

Speaking to us exclusively as part of the National Lottery Football Weekends campaign, Rangers legend McCoist suggests Salah’s future may now lie away from Liverpool.

“It is looking increasingly like he will leave,” McCoist told us.

“Until they can come to agreeable terms, that’s exactly what’s going to happen.

“It’s an interesting situation because he is certainly one of if not the best player in Europe over the last 18 months or so.  He has been phenomenal.

“I think we have reached a stage where Liverpool are saying they can’t overstep this mark that they can’t really go to (on wages) and it looks like it is a stalemate.”

McCoist suggests reason for Salah sale

McCoist went on to suggest this story could yet have a twist, as he believes Salah could still agree to a deal if a fresh offer came in from Liverpool’s decision-makers.
