Martin Odegaard reveals role in potential Erling Haaland move, as Pedri issues Barca plea to star

The transfer rumours surrounding Dortmund sensation Erling Haaland are hotting up and both Martin Odegaard and Pedri have now spoken about the striker.

Haaland’s campaign has been disrupted by injuries, although he has still found the net 23 times in as many games. That includes Bundesliga braces against the likes of Eintracht Frankfurt, Bayer Leverkusen and SC Freiburg.

Haaland reportedly has a £63million release clause which becomes active in the summer. This has led to plenty of links with Europe’s biggest teams, including Real Madrid, Manchester United and Barcelona.

Dortmund are eager to tie the goalscorer down to a new contract. An announcement regarding his future is expected in the next few weeks.

21-year-old Haaland is currently on international duty with Norway. He is set to play alongside Odegaard and Sheffield United’s Sander Berge in a friendly against Slovakia on Friday evening.

At the pre-match press conference, Norway skipper Odegaard was asked about Haaland’s future. The former Real Madrid man revealed conversations about Los Blancos, whom Haaland could play for next season.

“We are good friends so we talk about lots of things, like when I was [at Real Madrid],” Odegaard said (via Goal).

“So, yeah, we talked about [Real Madrid], but it’s not anything special.”

Real’s rivals Barca are also in for Haaland, setting up a potential tug of war between the Spanish teams this summer.
