SEATTLE – The top-ranked Washington men’s soccer team hosts No. 5 Stanford on Thursday night at Husky Soccer Stadium. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. and airing on Pac-12 Network and Pac-12 Washington.
The Huskies (9-0-1, 2-0-0 Pac-12) are the No. 1 team in the nation for the first time since Oct. 19, 2021 after opening Pac-12 play with a pair of wins at San Diego State (2-0) and then-No. 21 UCLA (1-0) last weekend.
DP NIGHT
Washington will be hosting DP Night, where it will raise awareness for Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA). Husky alum Daniel Phelps passed away from SCA in 2015 at the age of 27 and the DP Foundation was founded in his memory. More information about DP Night can be found by clicking here.
Former Husky Cristian Roldan will be in attendance for the match along with current Sounders teammate and former Stanford player Jordan Morris. Both will be signing autographs pregame.
UW-STANFORD HISTORY
The Huskies lead the all-time series against the Cardinal 38-22-6. In Husky Soccer Stadium, Washington is 19-10-2 overall and 20-12-6 in Pac-12 play.
HUSKIES IN THE PAC-12 RANKINGS
Washington ranks first in the Pac-12 in assists per game (3.00), goal differential (23), points per game (8.60), scoring offense (2.80), total assists (30), total goals (28), total points (86) and win-loss-tie percentage (.950).
Individually, Chris Meyers is leading the conference is assists per game (0.70) and total assists (7). Lucas Meek leads the Pac-12 in game-winning goals (3), points per game (1.90) and total points (19). Sophomore Ilijah Paul leads in goals per game (0.80) and total goals (8).
STANFORD SCOUTING REPORT
Stanford sits at 6-0-3 on the season with a 1-0-2 mark in conference play.
Carlo Agostinelli leads the team with nine points (3 goals, 3 assists). In addition to Agostinelli, Shane de Flores, Jackson Kill and Will Reilly all have three goals on the year. Goalkeeper Mike Frank leads the Pac-12 with four shutouts and a 0.45 goals against average with 19 saves.
HOME FIELD ADVANTAGE
Since 1997, the Huskies have posted a 173-60-19 overall record at Husky Soccer Stadium, winning at least eight matches in 13 seasons including a 10-1-2 mark in 2013.
Earlier this season, the Huskies set a new program record for single-game attendance when 3,876 packed Husky Soccer Stadium to watch Washington take on Seattle U on Sept. 21.
