Barcelona are reportedly hoping to keep hold of both Joao Felix and Joao Cancelo for next season.

The two players joined the Catalan club on loan last summer, Felix from Atletico Madrid and Cancelo from Man City.

As things stand both are due to return to their parent clubs for pre-season but Barcelona president Joan Laporta has revealed work is being done to keep them at the Nou Camp.

‘We want them to continue. Deco is working to ensure that they continue another season in the current conditions,’ Laporta said on the President’s Podcast on Barca One.

‘[Hansi] Flick considers that they are high-quality players and when he coached Bayern he already tried to incorporate Joao Felix. I think that Felix could have performed better because he has extraordinary quality.’
