Austin, TEXAS – Austin FC announced today that Club Captain and Designated Player Sebastián Driussi has obtained a Green Card to become a permanent resident of the United States. Driussi – originally from Buenos Aires, Argentina – will no longer occupy an international slot on Austin FC’s Major League Soccer (MLS) roster after carrying that designation during the 2021, 2022, and 2023 seasons.
Driussi was an MLS All-Star, MLS Best XI selection, and runner-up for the Landon Donovan MLS Most Valuable Player Award in 2022. He is Austin FC’s all-time leading scorer with 43 goals in 85 appearances across all competitions.
