Soccer Set for Sunday Night Futbol against Cincinnati


TEMPE – Sun Devil Soccer is back in action on Sunday evening with a home contest against Cincinnati at Sun Devil Soccer Stadium. The second of three straight games in Tempe for ASU is slated for a 6 p.m. start.

Arizona State enters the game with a 6-2-3 overall record and 1-2-1 in Big 12 games. They are tied for 10th in the conference by averaging 1.00 results points per game. The Sun Devils are 4-1-2 at home on the season with four shutouts. They are 55th in the country by scoring 2.09 goals per game while taking 15.36 shots. ASU puts 46.2 percent of those shot attempts on goal. The opposition has totaled eight goals while taking 11.4 shots per game.

Kierra Blundell leads the team with eight goals and 19 points. Enasia Colon has added five goals while leading the team with four assists and 36 shots. Cameron Valladares has scored four goals, and her three assists match the total from Blundell and Keri Matthews.

Pauline Nelles holds a 0.73 goals-against-average and .852 save percentage in goal.

ASU dropped a 2-1 decision against West Virginia in their Big 12 home opener on Thursday. Blundell scored the team’s lone goal in the 13th minute.
