USC Women's Soccer Heads to San Francisco, No. 1 Stanford

THIS WEEK – The USC women’s soccer team continues non-conference play on the road with a pair of games this week, playing at San Francisco on Thursday and then at No. 1 Stanford on Sunday.
 
HOW TO FOLLOW – Thursday’s game will be broadcast live on ESPN+ and Sunday’s will be broadcast on ACC Network Extra. ALL-TIME SERIES VS. USF – The Trojans and Dons have played just once in their history, with USC picking up a 2-0 win in a neutral site game in Hawaii in 2019.
 
ALL-TIME SERIES VS. STANFORD – The Trojans and Cardinal have a long history as both were members of the former Pac-12 up until this season, with USC now playing in the Big Ten and Stanford in the ACC. USC and Stanford first played back in 1993, with the Cardinal holding a 19-7-5 lead in the all-time series since then. The Trojans, however, are unbeaten in their last four matches with Stanford, picking up wins in 2021 (3-2, OT) and 2022 (2-1), and draws in 2020 (0-0) and 2023 (0-0). The last three meetings have been in Los Angeles, with the last match in Palo Alto being the scoreless draw in the 2020-21 (Covid) season.
 
LAST WEEK AT PORTLAND – The Trojans won their lone game last week, beating Portland 2-1 on the road on Saturday. Kayla Colbert scored her first goal of the season in the first half and then Maile Hayes converted a PK in the second half. USC held the Pilots scoreless for most of the afternoon, but gave up a PK in the 86th minute for the lone goal allowed.
 
AT PEPPERDINE – The Trojans picked up a comeback win at Pepperdine earlier this year, taking down the Waves 3-1 on Aug. 25. Pepperdine scored in the second minute of the game, but the USC defense held from there on out. The Trojans scored all three of their goals in the second half, getting the equalizer from Faith George, the go-ahead strike from Hannah Griffin and then…
