Liverpool, Arsenal, Barcelona and Real Madrid are among the clubs closely monitoring Palmeiras wonderkid Vitor Reis as a potential transfer target for the near future.

Sources with a close understanding of the player’s situation have informed CaughtOffside that there is growing interest in the talented 18-year-old defender after his strong performances in his native Brazil, with a big move to Europe looking inevitable for him fairly soon.

It remains to be seen where Reis could end up, but scouts from Liverpool, Arsenal, Real, Barca and also Benfica have been present at recent games to monitor his progress, with the young centre-back clearly identified as a player with a big future.

Reis is understood to have had positive reports about him, also dating back to his time in the youth team at Palmeiras, whose academy has also produced elite talents like Endrick and Estevao Willian in recent times.

Reis transfer: Brazil’s next big thing to the Premier League?

Vitor Reis is being eyed by Liverpool and Arsenal

Reis looks like he could be ideal for the Premier League’s big boys, though it remains to be seen if he’ll be tempted by them or perhaps follow the long line of top Brazilian talents to join Real Madrid in recent years.

Los Blancos have done well to nurture the likes of Vinicius Junior, Rodrygo Goes, and now Endrick, while they’ve also generally shown a commitment to bringing through young players like Jude Bellingham and Eduardo Camavinga.

Still, Arsenal have also done similar with the likes of Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli and William Saliba, so someone like Reis may well look at the Emirates Stadium as a good next step for him.

Liverpool also look like an exciting place to be right now, and with Virgil van Dijk not getting any younger, it could be that Reis would have a clear role lined up for him as the Dutchman’s long-term replacement in the Reds defence.
