England’s Euro 2024 squad – ranked

Dean Henderson

The final 26-man England squad for this summer’s Euro 2024 has finally been picked by Gareth Southgate.

And while plenty of talented players like James Maddison and Jack Grealish haven’t made the cut, the group is still awash with extraordinary talent.

Here’s how we at 90min have ranked England’s players based on importance to Euro 2024 hopes…

It’s probably pretty fair to say that Dean Henderson, England’s third choice goalkeeper, won’t play a single minute this summer in Germany.

Still, good for him getting a place on the plane at least.

Unlike Henderson, Aaron Ramsdale may actually get a game…if England win their first two group games and have a dead-rubber third to rotate their squad in.

Dunk has been pretty poor of late at club level, so don’t expect him to get many chances at the Euros (even though he made the squad at the expense other centre-backs).

Ezri Konsa

Ezri Konsa has earned his place in England’s Euro 2024 squad thanks to his very impressive performances for Aston Villa on their journey to UEFA Champions League qualification.

With just three international caps to his name however, the versatile Konsa likely won’t be relied upon too heavily by Southgate.

Having scored a career-high 16 Premier League goals for West Ham in 2023/24, Bowen heads to Germany in the best form of his life.

And while he’s not likely to start any games during Euro 2024, his positional versatility could make him a handy option for Southgate off of the bench.

Joe Gomez

Picked ahead of Maguire / Marc Atkins/GettyImages

Included ahead of Southgate’s favourite but unfit son Harry Maguire, in a lot of ways the decision actually makes quite a lot of sense.

On top of being in better form than Maguire, Gomez is also a bit more versatile as he can play…
