Illini Soccer Adds Transfer Lindsey DuSatko

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – Illinois soccer head coach Janet Rayfield announced the addition of Lindsey DuSatko (Plainfield, Ill.) to the Fighting Illini roster for the 2024 season.

ABOUT DUSATKO

  • Helped Valparaiso to its first NCAA Tournament appearance since 2014 after winning the 2023 Missouri Valley Tournament.
  • 2023 MVC All-Conference Third Team; 2022 MVC All-Conference First Team; 2021 MVC All-Conference Second Team.
  • Played in 67 matches, making 58 starts, for the Crusaders over three seasons; Tallied 11 goals while adding 11 assists.
  • 2019 All-Sectional and All-Conference honoree at Plainfield North HS.
  • Helped Chicago Inter take first place in the Midwest Regional League and advance to the State Cup semifinals.

DuSatko joins the Illini bringing a wealth experience to the Orange and Blue’s attack. A four-year letterwinner, the Plainfield, Ill., native played in 67 matches at Valparaiso, scoring 11 goals and adding 11 assists.

DuSatko started all 21 matches during the Crusader’s 2023 campaign, tallying four goals and adding five assists, earning MVC All-Conference Third Team honors. She helped Valpo secure the MVC Tournament championship, taking the program to its first NCAA Tournament since 2014 and the third appearance overall.

RAYFIELD’S TAKE: “Lindsey adds experience, is accustomed to winning and can add a big push to the attacking side of our program. Her ability to attack down the flank and provide quality service into the box is a quality we will look to leverage in making us a more dangerous attacking team.” 

WHY ILLINOIS: “The team all made me feel welcome, I know the coaches will make me a better player and lead me to do good things on and off the field. The overall atmosphere was amazing.”
