New England recorded its third win of the 2024 season last Saturday, battling Chicago Fire II to a 3-2 victory. Alex Monis opened the scoring with two goals against his former team, with Gevork Diarbian earning his third assist of the season on Monis’ first goal. For his two-goal performance, Monis was named MLS NEXT Pro Player of the Matchweek. Chicago battled back to equalize in the second half. Academy midfielder Cristiano Oliveira was fouled inside the box during second-half stoppage time setting up Marcos Dias to bury the penalty kick, tallying his 18 th career goal with Revolution II since joining the club in 2022. Dias now stands alone as the team’s all-time scoring leader.

Monis, Dias, and Homegrown midfielder Jack Panayotou are all tied for most goals scored with New England’s second team with three on the season. Revolution II has enjoyed balanced scoring through their first seven matches in 2024 with eight different players finding the scoresheet so far. Dias leads his team with five assists on the season with Monis and Diarbian close behind with two helpers each.

Last weekend’s win also featured the professional debut of New England’s newest signing, defender Moshtaba Al-Hasnawi. The University of Michigan product entered the match in the 65 th minute to become the 57 th player since the 2020 season to make his professional debut with Revolution II. Alongside Al-Hasnawi, 2024 has also featured the professional debuts of Barry, Luka Borovic, JD Gunn, Damario McIntosh, Alex Parvu, Cristiano Oliveira, and Andrej Bjelajac.
