Langley, BC – Vancouver FC visits Cavalry FC for the preliminary round match of the 2024 Canadian Championship. Here is everything you need to know about the game, which kicks off at 6 p.m. PT in Calgary, AB:
MATCH STORY: Vancouver FC remain at the top of the Canadian Premier League standings after two weeks of regular season play. The squad most recently faced Halifax Wanderers FC at home to earn their second win and first clean sheet of 2024.
Vancouver has now embarked on their first road trip of the year starting with a visit to ATCO Field for a Canadian Championship match against Cavalry. This will be VFC’s second appearance in the cup tournament after previously falling to York United FC in 2023 in what was the Eagles’ second game in franchise history.
This year’s squad will be looking to use their earlier regular season momentum to challenge Cavalry in their first home game of the year and to set another franchise milestone by advancing past the preliminary round of the Canadian Championship. The victor of tonight’s match will face Vancouver Whitecaps FC in the Quarter-Final round.
